About This Project

This series of photos were to be placed in an issue of Bon Appétit. Each one is designed to have text placed on the page of an article, recipe, or a headline to a new section of the magazine. I was interested in showing the delicious details of a fresh batch of chocolate chip cookies. Some of the chips are in focus while the others are not. This adds a bit more depth to the photo even though it is a close-up picture. The cookies are also overlapped to make them appear bigger and softer.

The pasta dish is strategically placed on the table cloth for a dynamic look. I chose Alfredo because the colors of the food look appealing to the wooden table and light green table cloth.

This fruit parfait is nicely layered in a cocktail glass with crunchy granola and sweet cherries on top. The red in the cloth behind it creates repetition and unity in the photo. The photo was taken vertically to give emphasis to the height of the glass.
